의기양양해진 고양이는 토끼를 들고 궁전으로 가서 왕을 뵙기를 청했다.

접견실로 안내된 고양이는 왕에게 정중히 절을 하고 나서 이렇게 아뢰었다.

“전하, 이것은 저의 주인인 카라바 후작(고양이가 주인에게 제멋대로 붙인 호칭이었다)이 전하께 바치는 산토끼랍니다.”

“네 주인에게 고맙다고 전하거라. 내가 무척 기뻐하더라고도 이야기하고.”

왕이 말했다.

A cat in boots

 

 

A cat in high spitits took a rabbit to the palace and asked to see the king.

A cat, who was led to the reception room, bowed politely to the king and then told him like this.

"Majesty, this is a hare dedicated to majesty by my master, the Marquis of Caraba (which was the name given by the cat to its master as it wished)."

"Tell your master thank you; tell him even if I am very happy."

Said the king.
