어떤 휴일이 다른 휴일과 겹칠 경우, 휴일이 아닌 날을 더 쉬도록 하는 날.

매년 일정 수준 이상의 공휴일을 보장하고 휴식을 통한 재충전의 기회를 보장하기 위하여 도입되었다.
